I am presently writing my Doctorate of Ministry degree for Wisdom University (founded as the University of Creation Spirituality by Matthew Fox). I am looking at the two primary spiritual writers that have deeply influenced me in the last eleven years; Brother Wayne Teasdale and Dr. Parker Palmer. Of course, all of you know about Wayne. Dr. Palmer comes from a Quaker tradition and uses it as a basis for what he calls Circles of Trust. Wayne was hoping that this movement would lead to being in dialogue and having encounters across traditions in a new, profound way. I believe that Dr. Parker principles for Circles of Trust, which are called the Touchstones, serve as an excellent foundation for this work. I would like us to discuss what interspiritual encounters would look like and how they would be different than the more traditional interfaith framework.

Thanks, T.S., for mentioning the work of Parker Palmer. As you may have seen, I attached a document to my previous post called “Guidelines for InterSpiritual Discussions” that includes a number of Palmer’s “Touchstones.” Click here to see this document.
I would love to hear the comments of others on these.
